Welcome to Music Lessons 4U, where we tailor lessons to the individual and help to achieve your musical goals.

​As COVID-19 spreads across the globe, we are all switching to remote learning. We just hope that you will keep on playing, especially now, when we’re stuck at home!
​
It’s hard to learn without the guidance of an instructor. Therefore, we’d like to introduce new services:

You can book a very short, 15 min online class, just to get feedback regarding pieces that you’ve been working on. We can help you to correct the mistakes and give you a ‘homework’ or a personal suggestion for which pieces/exercises to play. If you have questions during your session, you can ask them directly. We can even have a 'phone' lesson - That’s right.The only thing that is required is only a telephone.

There are other alternatives, if for any reason (unstable internet connection or being afraid that ‘you’re not technical enough’), video calling isn’t right for you. You can send us a video or audio recording of yourself playing piano or just ask questions. We will respond with feedback in either a written, video recording, or audio recording format.

​It’s only £10 for any of these service. Either way, you make sure that you’re playing the correct way and all your questions are answered.
You can still have a regular online class or you can schedule your class one lesson at time. Remember that we offer a FREE 10-minute trial session, if you need some guidance setting up or using the video call platform/application, or simply want to check if that’s something that will work for you.

Lessons are customised to fit each student’s needs from Beginner to Advanced levels

This can include preparation for grade exams as well as playing for own pleasure or to an audience.

We always incorporate student's musical preferences into lessons because then they are more motivated to practice the music that truly inspires them.

We keep a detailed log of what each of our students is currently working on, what we have covered and what we'll be working on next. This helps us to chart your progress and also plan the best way of helping you to reach your goals.

NO INSTRUMENT REQUIRED!

We provide instruments so you don't have to bring your own but you do need an instrument to practice between the lessons! If you are having trouble with which instrument to buy we are here to help.
Lessons
Location
We are located in Slade Green (Erith) and teach at our home studio or at a lesson space convenient to you.
Frequency
Once a week lessons are highly recommended for beginning and intermediate students.

Payment
Each lesson should be paid in advance, either in cash or via bank-transfer .
Block lesson payments are recommended but please talk to us regarding what suits you best.

Prices

One to one piano lessons:
30 min - £20
45 min - £25
1 hour - £30
1.5 hour - £45
*Parent and child lessons - same rates as individual lessons.
Group piano lessons:
30 min - £12 each
45 min - £15 each
1 hour - £20 each
*Come with a sibling, a friend or with your partner (lessons for 2 up to 4 students of the same level).

Cancellations/rescheduling
​
If you wish to cancel a lesson, you have to give at least 48 hours notice.
Otherwise the full-lesson cost has to be paid. This applies to rescheduling as well.

We offer piano tuition with a classically trained musician (Master of Arts Degree in Music Performance) who can also cover modern styles like jazz, pop or blues.
Whether you are a beginner looking to start learning the piano or you want to improve your playing, you will be given professional advice. Our teacher will help you to an find enjoyable and expressive way into music.

GUITAR LESSONS
Our friendly and very patient guitar tutor has over 12 years educational experience and is a member of The Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT).
He has studied jazz guitar, classical, acoustic (flatpicking or fingerstyle) and electric guitar styles (Blues, Rock, Funk) and has developed his own teaching methods which suit almost all types of players.

DRUM LESSONS
MUSIC THEORY
Theory is nothing to be scared of, even if you're new to it.
We can start right at the beginning if need be. It is useful to have an understanding of things like keys, scales, chord construction, harmonic function and being able to understand written music notation and follow chord charts.
This will not only help your knowledge of music and your playing, but also help you 'speak the language', so you can better understand terms/concepts when you read about them and it may help you to better communicate with other musicians too.
Percussion/drums tuition with a qualified teacher and an experienced musician, who's still working as a professional in the music industry.
Lessons can cover, posture, techniques, timing, sight-reading, grooves, fills, coordination, playing along to songs and transcriptions & approaching different styles.
Lessons are taught at student's home or in our music studio in Manor House.
